Get-To-Know-You Questions

One of my favorite books was written by my “friends,” the Satellite Sisters. They had an amazing upbringing and each contributed chapters to the book. Most people know that I have followed the Sisters since I read the book – their radio show, their radio show on podcast, then after the demise of the show, through their blog and now one Sister’s blog and podcast The Chaos Chronicles.

So my close friends, the Satellite Sisters, posted this blog about using these questions to get to know the women in your life a little better. I thought a few were interesting and so I thought I’d post them, as well!

  1. What great book do you claim to have read, but never really have?

One summer, I think it was the summer after my first year of work, I decided to read War and Peace – and found an abridged version at my mom and dad’s. I always have to qualify having “read” it, because abridged books just don’t count in my book. And I have no desire to read the unabridged version of that book! Wow. It was WORK.

But I am getting a hankering to read Anna Karenina!

    2. Electrician
    3. weird question…answer is no
    4. tight rolling my jeans
    5. hmmm… not sure.
    6. Nope, I don’t lie.
    7. I don’t think I have ever lied about reading a book.
    8. Tummy.
    7. not at all!
    9. Special Education Teacher in a small town.
    10. In my college dorm room.
    11. “Dancing Queen” by ABBA

    1. One of the book blogs that I follow is doing a “read along” discussion, reading chunks and discussing it monthly. Sounds like an undertaking! Didn’t Oprah just do something, too, with Anna Karenina?

  3. Where were you when you heard about the death of Princess Diana?

I was sitting at my mom and dad’s house on Burr Oak with the family, playing a board game. Marissa was going into 4th grade. I recently taped over (or threw away) the VHS tape of her funeral. I figured I woke up at 4am to watch her wedding, I should watch her funeral as well.

What do you think about that?
